This throwback party is going to be bad to the bone. “It’s a Celebration.” Break out your breakdancing pants, remove the mothballs for your Members Only jackets, glisten up your glove, comb out your mullet and make plans to attend the Wagon Wheel Theatre for a special event. On Wednesday night, July 17th, The Wedding Singer becomes the Wagon Wheel Theatre’s 400th professional production since the theater’s inaugural year of 1955. For this special occasion, the Wagon Wheel Theatre will begin selling individual tickets beginning May 1st for only $4. <o:p></o:p>
There will be giveaways prior to the 8pm show and bodacious
prizes to the max. Dress in your best
1980s costume to win gnarly prizes. If
you think you’ve got what it takes, enter the breakdancing competition, or if
you sing like Olivia Newton-John, enter the 1980s karaoke competition. The Wagon Wheel Theatre will give out 4
complete season subscriptions for the 2014 summer season among many other great
prizes. Mark the date on your calendar
because tickets will not last.
About the show: The
Wedding Singer is set in 1985 and Robbie Hart is a professional
entertainer who lives with his Grandma Rosie in New Jersey. He makes his living singing and playing with
his band at wedding receptions. After he
publicly announces his own wedding day, his fiancé dumps him at the altar. Based on the original motion picture
starring, Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, The Wedding Singer opened on
Broadway in 2006 and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Musical.
